Your favorites:primer, foundation, concealer & powder

In the post about your favorites, some PR samples will be shown. However, I bought most of the products shown myself.

Makeup favorites. They are asked again and again and again and again I think about whether it is worth bringing this post. Because, to be honest, not that much changes for me. At least not with my all time favorites. I still love the Estee Lauder Double Wear, in the drugstore it’s the Perfect Match from L’Oréal. For years. I always buy the same eyebrow gel, have been using the same pomade for years and when it comes to powder I am also loyal to the usual suspects. Sure, I try out a lot in between compared to many of you, but in order for a product to become my “favorite”, it has to knock my previous one from the throne. And only a few can do that. That’s why I haven’t published a favorite post in ages. You know my favorites.

But then a thought occurred to me: What about your favorites?

That’s why I started a series of surveys in my Instagram Stories a long time ago and asked you about your favorites in each individual product group (and hope I haven’t forgotten anything). I wrote down the answers meticulously and although it was clear that everyone would of course vote for something else, as there were no given answers or options, in some cases very clear favorites and favorite products have emerged.

(You shouldn’t be surprised at the photos, I quite simply don’t own all of the products mentioned and, contrary to all assumptions, I’m not so immensely rich that I could have bought everything especially for the blog post.)

Primer

1st place: Benefit Porefessional (6) | € 33.99 | 22 ml  *

I tried the Benefit Porefessional years ago and found it completely unsuitable for my skin. Basically, it sounds good and I would definitely like a primer to fill up the pores, especially around mine, a little and make them visually disappear. In practice, however, the product was a moderate catastrophe for me, as my skin is actually dry despite the oily T-zone and, above all, on the forehead is often flaky. The porefessional filled my pores, but at the same time it was so drying that I looked really forbidden with it. Dead skin over and over again, really bad. Experience shows: most of the rather thick, heavily silicone-heavy primers do this for me and therefore I strongly advise against anyone with really dry skin. Still I believe

Ingredients : Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Dimethicone / Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Isononyl Isononanoate, Silica, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Isododecane, Phenoxyethanol, Polymethyl Methacrylate , Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Cyclohexasiloxane, Tocopheryl Acetate 77, Fragrance , Mica. Limonene , Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Iron Oxides (CI 77499), Triethoxycaprylylsilane, BHT. N ° 04932 / N

2nd place: Smashbox Primerizer (4) | € 37.49 | 30 ml  *

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Smashbox Primerizer, it really has to be an amazing product. I recently applied it to the back of my hand in the perfumery for the first time and it’s a clear primer with a serum-like consistency. I always hear it doesn’t do much other than moisturize, but I found that the back of my hand looked a bit like I’d sprayed it with hairspray after it dried. Do you know this lacquer-like layer that then lies on the skin? Therefore, it could well be that it does even more and ensures better durability. In addition, the ingredients are really good. I can tell that I should really try it out.

Ingredients : Water \ Aqua \ Eau, Glycerin , Dimethicone, Isopropyl Isostearate, Ppg-15 Stearyl Ether, Niacinamide , Hydroxyethyl Urea , Sodium Polyaspartate, Sodium Hyaluronate , Algae Extract , Caffeine , Trehalose , Sorbitol , Decyl Glucoside, Xanthan Gum, 1,2 -Hexanediol, Propanediol, Sodium Hydroxide, Acrylates / C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol

3rd place: LOV Hyaluronic Serum Primer (4) | € 13.99 | 30 ml *

A product that I can highly recommend to you myself is the Hyaluronic Serum Primer from LOV. You know that I am generally a big fan of LOV products and, in my opinion, this primer is one of the best products in the entire range. It is visually reminiscent of the High High Hiiiigh End Primer from Guerlain (which I don’t know). The contained globules burst when pumping up, mix with the gel-like liquid and provide a wonderful glow in addition to the moisture. On the back of the hand you can definitely see shimmer particles, but on the face you can no longer perceive them as such. For me, the primer does not at least significantly extend the durability of my makeup, but I really like the additional moisture boost on days with dry skin.

Ingredients : Aqua, Glycerin , Propanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate , Urea , Hydroxyethylcellulose, Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract , PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trehalose , Gellan Gum, Calcium Alginate, Biosaccharide Gum-4, Xanthan Gum , Mica, Algin , Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Glyceryl Polacrylate , Pentylene Glycol, Serine, Pullulan , Disodium Phosphate, Titanium Dioxide, Benzyl Salicylate, Potassium Phosphate, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum , Butylphenyl Methylpropional, CI 77007 (Ultramarines).

Foundation

1st place: Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Make Up | approx. 45 € | 30 ml

Well, you confirm my opinion that the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation is simply the best foundation in the world. I’ve loved this foundation for years. It has great coverage that I don’t find too strong or mask-like at all, as it is often accused of. It’s always a question of quantity and order. It is neither extremely matt nor dewy, but rather has a relatively natural finish in my opinion (with a tendency towards matt, admittedly). But what I like most of all is their extremely long shelf life. I myself wore the foundation at my wedding and only recently recommended it to a friend for her wedding. Some time ago, new color nuances were finally added to the range, which I’m very happy about myself, because the former lightest color was actually neither bright enough for me, nor did the undertone fit perfectly. It is also free from fragrances and alcohol. If you want to find out more, be sure to check out mineReview !

Ingredients : Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Butylene Glycol, Peg / Ppg-18/18 Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Magnesium Sulfate, Tribehenin, Titanium Dioxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Methicone, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Celleth-7, Disteardimonium Humector Propylene Carbonate, Xanthan Gum, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Alumina, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Mica, Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499)]

2nd place: L’Oréal Perfect Match Foundation | € 11.99 | 30 ml *

And again we agree. In my opinion, the L’Oréal Perfect Match Foundation is the best foundation you can get in the drugstore. It also has a medium coverage that can be built up, a natural, not really matt finish and reliably lasts all day. For a drugstore foundation, it is available in a wide variety of colors and we have thought of both very light and very dark skin types. I really love it and have bought it several times.

Ingredients : Aqua, Dimethicone, Isododecane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Glycerin , PEG-10 Dimethicone, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer , Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Synthetic Fluorophlogopite, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid, Ceticoneyl PEG / PPGG-10/1 Dimiun Chloride , Polyglyceryl-4 isostearate, hexyl laurate, caprylyl glycol, phenoxyethanol, disodium stearoyl glutamate, tocopherol , panthenol , aluminum hydroxide, hydroxyethyl urea , Hydrated Silica [+/- may contain: CI 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, CI 77492, CI 77499 / Iron Oxides, Mica, CI 15985 / Yellow 6 Lake, CI 42090 / Blue 6 Lake, CI 77510 / Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide, CI 45410 / Red 28 Lake, CI 15850 / Red 7]

3rd place: It Cosmetics CC Cream | 38.99 | 32 ml Catrice HD Liquid | € 6.99 | 30 ml Revlon Colorstay  | € 11.99 | 30 ml

Third place in the Foundation category is shared by 3 products, all of which I have tried and learned to love and which I still like to use. Since I have already reported about all three on The elreviwz, please have a look at these reviews for more information.

The first product is It Cosmetics CC Cream , which I recently reported on in detail . I like to take it with me when traveling because it is easy to pack and straightforward. In my opinion, the color selection can still be expanded and it would be great if the formulation with regard to the fragrances contained were reconsidered. Otherwise highly recommended.

The Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation is one of the best foundations from the drugstore for me after the perfect match and I recommend you further. The liquid consistency feels extremely light on the skin, but surprisingly it has a very high coverage and mattifies the skin, but does not dry it out. So in my opinion it is super suitable for all skin types except for really very dry skin. An extremely exciting formulation for such little money, Chapeau, Catrice.

The Revlon Colorstay Foundation is one of my oldest favorites, I’ve been using it for years. It used to be a laborious process to order from abroad, but Revlon is now available from Rossmann on site and online. It is available in two versions, namely for normal to dry skin and for oily skin. The version for oily skin works really well and reliably mattifies the skin. But since I tend to be dry in places, I ride the variant for dry skin extremely well. It’s not extremely moisturizing, but neither does it dry out and especially doesn’t emphasize my dry areas. I would recommend the Colorstay Foundation to anyone looking for a cheap foundation with high coverage and high durability.

Concealer

1st place: Maybelline Fit me (12) | € 6.99 | 6.8 ml *

The Maybelline Fit me Concealer has become a real classic. Many have compared it to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the past, which I personally cannot confirm at all. Except for the remotely similar look, perhaps. Otherwise it has a good, but not extremely high coverage and is comfortable and light to wear, while the NARS Concealer is much too thick for my taste.

I used to use the Fit Me Concealer very much and now, in view of this voting, have bought it again. Let’s see if I still like him that much. I definitely think it’s great that there are now more than three colors in the range.

Ingredients : Aqua, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, glycerol , sorbitan Isostearate, Propylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide [Nano] / Titanium Dioxide, Ozokerite, phenoxyethanol, Magnesium Sulfate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, methylparaben, acrylates copolymer (micro plastic) , alumina, Butylparaben, Aluminum Hydroxide, Tocopherol , Silica, Chamomilla Recutita Extract / Matricaria Flower Extract, [+/- may contain: CI 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / Iron Oxides, Mica]

2nd place: Maybelline (10) | € 8.95 | 6.8 ml

The extinguisher is another veteran of Maybelline and is still extremely popular. And rightly so, I love this concealer very much too. Unfortunately, Maybelline doesn’t seem to take the criticism of the sponge very seriously. Because it was previously only available in a few colors in Europe and the lightest available color was not ideal for me, at some point I stopped buying it and tested other brands. In the meantime, however, the color range has been expanded, and above all the corrective color “Neutralizer” is now available, which I took away with me after evaluating this survey.

The eraser has a medium coverage and I would recommend it even for dry skin because the texture is relatively moisturizing and very comfortable to wear.

Ingredients : Aqua, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Isododecane, Glycerin , PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl, Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer,  Nylon-12 (Microplastic),  Disteardimonium, Hectorite, Cyclohexasiloxane, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Cetyl PEG / 1 Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Chloride, Polyglyceryl-4 IsostearateCaprylyl Glycol, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Methylparaben, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract, Chlorphenesin, Ethylparaben, Aluminum Hydroxide, PEG-9 Tetrapeptide-7 | [+/– CI 77891 · CI 77491 · CI 77492 · CI 77499]

3rd place: Catrice Camouflage (9) | € 3.49 | 5 ml

The Catrice Camouflage Concealer is also extremely popular and can be found in your favorites. A liquid concealer with quite high coverage, unfortunately with superfluous perfume. For me and my first wrinkles under the eyes, the concealer is unfortunately not (anymore) suitable because it creeps into my wrinkles and makes my eye area appear very dry. But I could well imagine using it on my face. Definitely a recommendation for “younger” skin that isn’t too dry!

Ingredients : Aqua, Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polymethyl Methacrylate , Butylene Glycol, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Cetyl PEG / PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Hexyl Laurate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, VP / Eicosene Copolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate , Tocopherol , Sodium Chloride, PEG / PPG-19/19 Dimethicone, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Propylene Carbonate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Lecethin, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum , CI 77289 CI 77492 (Iron Oxides), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide).

4th place: Tarte Shape Tape (5) | € 26.95 | 10 ml

So that the high-end lovers get their money’s worth, I’m also taking fourth place here, which is occupied by the Shape Tape Concealer. In the meantime, I can say with confidence that this is my personal all time favorite that I keep coming back to. The opacity is unbeatable, I don’t find it drying out and it doesn’t overly emphasize my wrinkles. I love it very much and have already bought it again. Great part for everyone who really has something to cover. The price really hurts, but for me every penny is worth it. In addition, it is extremely economical thanks to its high coverage. The disadvantage, however, is that it also contains (in addition to many good ingredients) a lot of fragrances.

Ingredients : Water / Aqua / Eau, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Butylene Glycol, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer , PEG-10 Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Sodium Chloride, Cetyl PEG / PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, 1,2-Hexanediol, Aluminum Hydroxide, Amyl Cinnamal , benzyl Salicylate, Convallaria majalis Bulb / root Extract, Dimethicone / vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Disodium EDTA, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Ethylhexylglycerin, geraniol , Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) root Extract , Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil , hexyl cinnamal , Hydroxycitronellal , Leontopodium alpinum Flower / Leaf Extract, Lilium Candidum Flower Extract, Limonene ,Linalool , Magnolia Liliflora Flower Extract, M angifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter , Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil , Paeonia Lactiflora Root Extract, Parfum , Phenoxyethanol, Tocopherol, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Triethyl Citrate, B utyrospermum Parkii (Shea Davidiana ) Butter. , Root Extract, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499).

powder

1st place: RCMA No Color Powder (6) | 14 € | 85 g

First place really surprised me. The RCMA No Color Powder is a classic among makeup artists and an insider tip among beauty lovers. I don’t get the impression that there is too much talk about the RCMA brand, but if you are looking for a very simple but really good basic powder, then you really have to take a look at this one. The dosage form in the Parmesan dispenser is still suboptimal, which is why I have now poured some of the powder into an emptied LOV powder jar. But for the price, you get a massive amount of product (yes, it’s really not a bug) that will last you forever. It’s probably best to share it with a friend. Really.

2nd place: Hourglass Ambient Lighting (5) | € 46.49

In second place, I’m fully with you. The ambient lighting powders are just amazing and if you want to treat yourself to something, they are really worth the investment in my eyes. The high-quality powder gives the skin a beautiful, fine, subtle glow that I have never seen with any other powder. You should not confuse them with a normal setting powder, because they do not mattify or increase the durability of the foundation. At least not with my skin, which is oily in places. They are designed as a finishing powder and are intended to give the skin the finishing touch. You have to be careful, however, as the different colors also have different finishes, which is difficult for a layperson to see through. If you have similar skin to mine, I can recommend the yellowish color Diffused Light.Edit Palette * something for you, in which you get two powders, a highlighter, a bronzer and two blushes.

3rd place: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish (4) | € 34.50 | 10 g  * and  essence all about matt (4) | € 2.99 | 8 g  *

Third place is shared by the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish and the popular drugstore powder from essence.

The MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder is once again a real classic. I also bought it several times in the past and was always very satisfied with it. The skin finishes are baked powders that do not “dull” the skin, but give it a velvety, natural finish. They have a very light opacity of their own, which can be increased by applying a damp sponge and thus could be sufficient for people with very regular, clean skin even without a foundation.

The essence all about matt powder has proven itself for several years in the constantly changing range and is now even available in a loose version. I also enjoy using this powder and consider it to be one of the best drugstore powders on the market. It is transparent on the skin and mattifies it quite well, but of course you have to refill it during the day. For the ridiculously low price of € 3, the powder is an extremely good basic product that I would happily recommend.
