NARS Sheer Matte Foundation

NARS Sheer Matte Foundation Review

I’ve never been a fan of foundations. For whatever reason, every time I used a foundation, my skin felt so congested that I wanted to rip it off. But with that said, for special occasions, I like to have a bottle of MAC professional outerwear. A few months ago, I was getting a “makeover” at a mall where I was randomly selected and had it applied by the MUA. It was on my radar since then, as I was very impressed by its appearance and its staying power.

.

My take on the NARS Sheer Matte Foundation:

Stromboli is an exquisite little island near Sicily. This is exactly how it looks, like something in the vanity of a rich woman. The day I bought it, I looked at it for some reason. No wonder my husband thinks I’m crazy. The SA at Sephora made me a skin match and showed 4 marks that were a perfect match and when I applied Stromboli, I realized how perfect that software was programmed. It was so perfect for me, every critic in my mind fell silent! Nars claims that this oil-free foundation offers sheer, buildable coverage with shine control, while claiming that it is a long-lasting, night-time skin tone. Check, check and check. I used this so many times, adding up to 3 different scenarios:

1) a little more moisturizer while I go out and about in the sun.

2) largely as full coverage – While visiting a formal dinner, a full day visit to a mall.

Let me say it again, it stays and it stays. It gave me over 6 hours of wear even at 80 degrees F. I only had to rub my nose once, but my nose is my oiliest area. I wandered all afternoon, went straight to a late dinner, and still ended up being congratulated. Honestly, it seemed all fresh. My main happiness is that I really like the finish; It is neither flat nor wet. I hate matte products because they make me look all matronly. Sheer Matte also claims to have skincare benefits that bring radiance and smoothness to the skin. I don’t know how that works with makeup, but so far, this is the best thing I’ve ever used.

NARS Sheer Matte Foundation Pros:

  • Staying power.
  • Best for oily skin.
  • Not cakey but buildable.
  • A wide range of colors.
  • It blends perfectly on the skin.
  • Looks fabulous

Cons of the NARS Sheer Matte Foundation:

  • The price ?
  • Why doesn’t it come with a bomb, even Rati mentioned the same thing yesterday, it’s a pain to get it out? Either you have to use a makeup spatula or those candy sticks.
  • I don’t want them to market this: NARS, give ’em free, dammitttt!

Verdict:

If you have oily skin and you don’t want soft and messy makeup then definitely take a look. I have photos to prove it
