This is the best foundation for your skin type

We all have doubts about which makeup products are good for each one . The market is full of offers and at the moment of choosing we do not know which one to choose.

In this case we focus on  which base should be used according to the type of skin , because there are them for all and with different forms of application. For that we spoke with Fabiana Pereyra, make-up artist at Estudio Frumboli, who helped us to decipher it.

Before we start, keep in mind that foundation is used to make skin look smoother, NOT to color it. That is why you have to choose one that is the same tone as you and not lighter or darker. A tip? Compare the color to the skin on the chest and not the skin on the neck.

Today we tell you which is the best foundation for your skin type . Do not miss it!

1. Liquid – Normal skin

The liquid foundations are best for everyday use and are recommended for normal skin. They are ideal to apply with a brush or sponge and even by hand. The fact that it is liquid helps to use less amount of product, and depending on the brand, they come with different characteristics, such as long-lasting, lifting effect or  oil free . This type of foundation is ideal for normal skin.

2. Compact – Skin with acne

The compact bases  are generally in the form of tablets or bars type sticks. They are used with a brush for a lighter effect or with a sponge for a more covering effect. This type of foundation is ideal for more difficult skin (that have blemishes or had acne) because it evens out all kinds of blemishes. Perhaps, being heavier, they have the disadvantage that it is easy to abuse the product. Do not get too much!

They are generally not oil free so they are not good for oily skin. Before applying it, it is advisable to moisten the brush or sponge with a hydrating spray or even hydrate the base to loosen the first layer and use less. They are also not recommended for skin with wrinkles since the product gets into them and makes them more noticeable.

3. Creamy – Normal skin and dry skin

The cream base is heavier than the base liquid and lighter than the compact. Being creamy in texture, it can be applied with your hands or with a sponge, as if it were a cream. It generally provides benefits such as hydrating the skin, treating spots or sun protection.

4. Mousse – Oily skin

The mousse base is characterized by being airy in texture and having a powder finish. It is ideal to be applied with the hands, and recommended for oily skin that does not need to cover imperfections. If you like foundations of this type, make sure to match all areas well to prevent excesses from leaving spots on your skin.

5. Aerosol – All skin types

The bases aerosol are fast application. The correct way to do it is a few inches from the face and does not require much more attention than tidying up some areas. In general, these types of bases are quite covering, but the secret is to spray the face closer or further away, depending on the needs of each one: the closer the spray is applied, the more imperfections are covered. Once you apply it, you have to polish the skin in all areas with a fiber optic base brush.

6. Powder – Young skin

The powder foundation was one of the first bases to be marketed and it is hardly used anymore because it is usually quite noticeable. It is applied with a sponge to cover more or with a powder brush to use it lighter. It is good for young skin and for oily skin because of its mattifying effect. It is not the same as compact or volatile powder. It does not usually come in a wide range of colors so it can also be difficult to get the exact color of the skin.

7. Dropper – Normal Skin

The dropper base is of the latest generation, not many brands have it yet. It is a base with a super liquid texture (they are microparticles of air and product) that, to the touch but in contact with the skin, melts almost without being noticed and does not need powder to fix it. It’s super lightweight and great for makeup for HD TV or videos. As it comes with a dropper, it can be applied by hand or with a brush. Ideal for normal skin.

You see that there is a base for each type of skin . Thanks to the experts at Estudio Frúmboli, we learned what the specific basis was for each of us. Tell us what your skin type is and what makeup base is for you.
