3 Types and Textures of Makeup Base

Very different types of makeup base are offered on the market. Almost as many as skin types. They come in different shapes and offer a wide variety of additional functions. To choose the right base, you must study your own skin. Is it greasy or does it tend to get dry? What is its tonality? Are you regularly exposed to high temperatures and therefore more prone to sweating?

There are alternatives for practically every skin. The secret is to find the one that is capable of highlighting natural beauty in a greater way and is assimilated to the skin tone of its user. Asking the advice of a beautician or the clerk of the store where it is purchased can be very useful , since experience is a degree and they are sure that they are trained to provide the demanding person with the exact product they need.

The different types of makeup base are distinguished below , according to their shape:

• Powder base
It can be presented as a loose or compact powder. It is often used occasionally to touch up a face when necessary, such as in times of trouble or when the person is not at home. Although each case must be studied to know its effectiveness, in general the powder foundation tends to give very good results to women with oily skin. It combines the softness and good coverage of a cream foundation with the fixing power of powder. It is also the one with the fastest application.

• Mousse makeup base
Gives the skin an attractive velvety appearance. It has a gel-powder-based texture that covers the skin completely, but with a light coating. It is especially recommended for the most sensitive faces.

• Liquid makeup base
It is perfect to achieve a natural tone, since it is light, does not cover the skin much and it spreads with extraordinary ease. It contributes like no other type to keep the skin hydrated and does not usually present many fixing problems, although it is advisable to accompany it with transparent powders. There are two types:

– Moisturizing liquid foundation : Offers an extraordinary light to the face, which looks shiny. It is very simple to apply and reports very good results.

– Matte liquid base: It better covers the imperfections of the face and acquires a velvety tone after its very aesthetic application. It gives very good results when used on combination, slightly oily skin.

– Compact makeup base: Its main virtue is its power to unify the skin, since it is thick and a smaller amount guarantees complete coverage. It works perfectly to camouflage those occasional blemishes that worry so much. Although it is much more noticeable than the fluid ones, it gives a more formal makeup impression to its users, which creates an impression of elegance. Basically, there are two types of this base:

– Compact cream base: Offers very good results on combination skin, on the dry side. Provides a remarkable satin result.

– Compact powder foundation: Very good option for skins that tend to shine. Creates a peach skin-like impression. Ideal for busy women, as it can be applied in almost any situation quickly and easily.

– Stick makeup base: It is marketed in a stick with the intention of applying it directly to the face. Ideal for the person to take with them to all parties or, at least, where they intuit that they will need it. Easy to apply. It is not suitable for oily skin, although it performs well on combination and dry skin.

– Cream makeup base : This product is more discreet and less noticeable, although it covers a smaller surface area. With its use, a natural color is obtained that helps to hide imperfections, which will create an impression that its user is not wearing really rewarding makeup. It is usually supplemented by moisturizing substances and different nutrients, which is why it acts as a day cream.

Foundations are also worth distinguishing for the additional function they provide. Its importance is growing in the market and more and more products of these characteristics are being marketed. They can provide the following effects or carry the components listed below, among others:

• Moisturizers.

• Anti-glare.

• Anti-acne.

• Anti-aging.

• With silicone.

• With sun protection.
